The movie ‘Field of Dreams’ gives a great touch to baseball.
Go the Distance Baseball LLC announced Thursday that an organization led by Hall of Famer Frank Thomas has acquired a majority stake in All-Star Ballpark Heaven and the iconic film “Field of Dreams. “Thomas will serve as general manager, while Dan Evans, former general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will serve as lead operational officer.
The transaction consists of the acquisition of all interests in Go the Distance Baseball, which is owned by the Denise M. Stillman Trust. The majority stake acquisition is This is Heaven LLC, a venture between Thomas and genuine Chicago real estate developer and entrepreneur Rick Heidner. Heidner is an initial investor in Go the Distance Baseball and will retain his original minority investment.

“We are excited to lead the long-term progression and expansion of the Dream Camp in a spirit of collaboration with our neighbors and government officials,” Thomas said in a press release.
Last month, the Field of Dreams complex hosted the first elementary league baseball game in Iowa, a thrilling 9-8 Chicago White Sox victory over the New York Yankees. The game will return to Dyersville next season for an Aug. 11 clash between the Cincinnati Reds. and the Chicago Cubs.
