Harriet Hageman, who won Donald Trump’s approval this month in his bid to oust Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, has not been a fan of the former president.
The 2022 candidate in fierce opposition to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, running with supporters of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in a futile effort to force a conference vote between the two applicants and block Trump’s nomination. In addition, Hageman opposed Trump, warning that the Republican Party names “someone racist and xenophobic,” according to the New York Times.

Hageman also supported Cheney in his 2016 congressional campaign. In a Cheney keynote speech, Hageman called Cheney “my friend” and who will bring a “national spotlight” to federal success in the state of Wyoming, CNN reported.
“I know Liz Cheney is a brave and proven constitutional conservative, someone who has the education, background and joy to fight well for Wyoming on the national stage,” Hageman said in 2016. “There have been and will continue to be concerted efforts to force true conservatives to sit down and shut down. These efforts have never painted me and I know they would possibly not paint and would have no effect on Liz Cheney. “
In a Statement from the New York Times, Hageman said he believed “the lies that Democrats and Liz Cheney’s friends in the media were telling at the time” and learned that the allegations against Trump were “false. “She went on to describe Trump as “the greatest president of my life” and that she is proud to help him now.
Hageman won Trump’s approval in September. The former president won nearly 70% of Wyoming’s vote in 2016 and 2020, indicating that the Hagemans have a chance to fight in 2022.

Cheney, who attracted Trump’s emergence as one of 10 House Republicans who voted to indict him in January as a component of the riots on Capitol Hill, in May removed her role as speaker of the House Republican Conference in reaction to her vocal opposition to Trump.
But the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney is not without more sensible allies as she seeks re-election in 2022 and won that of a former president George W. Bush.
The first occasion of Bush’s crusade of the 2022 midterm election cycle will be a fundraiser for Cheney and he will take a position in Dallas, Texas, next month, and Cheney is scheduled to provide an occasion in New Hampshire on Nov. 9.
