New Delhi, October 31 (IANS) Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday warned the Centre to turn government offices into “grain markets” if it forcibly evicted farmers from the protest where they had mobilized against the 3 contentious agricultural legislation on the beyond 11 months.
The precaution came two days after Delhi police got rid of all the barricades of the Tikri and Ghazipur borders for elegant traffic.
However, farmers see it as a “lie” to them.
“If farmers don’t sell their mandis products at a fair price, what better position to do so than government offices? He demanded that the Center interact in the discussion with them and repeal the farm laws.
Earlier, Samyukt Kisan Morcha issued a saying that before opening all roads, the Center will have to open avenues to meet its demands.
Whether the unrest continues or affects the nation’s capital is a collective resolution that must be taken at the right time, he said.
Although the restless farmers met 11 times at the negotiating table, the talks were inconclusive.
The Supreme Court, in its ruling last week, ruled that while farmers are on the loose to protest, they “block” roads causing inconvenience to the public.
