Civil and structural engineering company JPG Group is providing consultancy for the delivery of a new cinema and recreation complex at Kingsgate Shopping Centre in Huddersfield.
Kingsgate WD (Kingsgate) Limited has shown plans at the site to deliver the £7 million programme after signing a 25-year lease with UK independent cinema chain The Light.
It intends for the existing House of Fraser store to offer two floors for recreational use, adding a bowling alley with bars and restaurants on the floor floor, while a new upper point will be dedicated to the six-screen cinema attraction.
JPG, based on LEEDS, reviewed the plans and contributed to feasibility and pricing with a detailed design review that produced a high-value technical solution.
JPG evaluated the existing Kingsgate construction to validate the functions and consulted with specialist NZA Acoustics to conclude the deliverability.
David Allwood, Director of JPG Group, said: “We are very pleased to secure this allocation based on our existing credentials in film viability.
“This type of installation requires a very personalized assessment due to the sound and vibratory insulation needs and this is intrinsically connected to the overall design, specifications and structure, as well as the internal interface. “
Peter Everest, from WD (Kingsgate) Limited, said: “I look forward to running with JPG and the team led through Covell Matthews Architects to deliver a transformative progression indeed to the other people in Huddersfield and the whole of Kirklees.
JPG is also running with surveyors Richard Boothroyd Associates (RBA) and NU Construction to complete the assignment. The assignment team will begin the structure in early 2022.
JPG Group recently finished paintings at the new £8. 5 million six-screen Savoy cinema complex in Doncaster city centre, which includes five top-not-tier catering units.
The organization appointed structural engineer to paint along Lindum Construction and The Harris Partnership to bring recreational charm to the city’s civic and cultural district.
JPG has also completed a film assignment in Kent as a component of the Spirit of Sittingbourne consortium’s city regeneration assignment. In addition to an eight-screen Light Cinema, the multi-million pound program includes arcade stages and a 63-room Travelodge.
Other film projects realized through JPG include the £ 25 million 11-screen Empire cinema complex at Catterick and multi-screen cinema as a component of the wider £ 40 million destination of Broad Street Plaza in downtown Halifax.
