Operating for more than 30 years as a producer-owned organization, Yakima Chief Hops is deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest hop community. YCH has had the opportunity to witness the evolution of the hops and beer industries, as well as the talented women and men who give it a contribution, from box to pint, recognizing not only advances in expanding diversity, but also opportunities for continuous improvement to be more inclusive.
In August 2021, YCH introduced a new podcast, Bigger than Beer, with a project to explore new themes each year that focus on the overall effect of the craft beer community, adding social and environmental initiatives. The Women in the Industry series features women in the hops and brewing career and provides a platform to express their other perspectives in hopes of inspiring meaningful conversations and positive change.
