Donald Trump took to his social media platform on Sunday to protest the January 6 Committee, which is expected to refer the felony charges to the Justice Department this week.
The former president took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to share his opinion Sunday morning.
“The political hacking deselection committee is the same organization that invented the deception of RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, to name many others. They are corrupt cowards who hate our country,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Minutes later, he added, “Republicans and patriots across the country will have to stand strong and united in the face of the thugs and scoundrels on the selection committee. It will be a dark age in American history, but with darkness comes the gentle!. “
The House committee is expected to vote Monday to urge the DOJ to indict Trump for his involvement in the Capitol riots, and is expected to release its full final report on Wednesday, Insider reported in the past.
His first post garnered over 4000 ReTruths (the Twitter site’s retweets), and his post so far had over 6000 ReTruths.
Trump’s comments came shortly before Sunday’s broadcasts began on political news sites. Rep. Adam Schiff, a member of the Jan. 6 committee, said Sunday morning on CNN that he believes there is enough evidence to criminally charge Trump for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, Insider reported in the past.
The committee is expected to charge Trump with insurrection, obstruction of due process and conspiracy to defraud the U. S. government, POLITICO reported.
