VERSAILLES — On Sunday, May 21, the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 79 presented Collin Rismiller of Versailles, their highest rank, the Eagle Scout award, at a courtyard rite in Heritage Park. Rismiller is the son of Matt and Erin Rismiller and is one of about 4 percent of all Scouts who succeed at the rank of Eagle. Each Eagle Scout will need to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership, and complete a network or church-related service assignment to meet Eagle Scout requirements.
Rismiller’s Eagle Scout assignment concerned the design and construction of the new Gaga Ball court at Heritage Park. This task decided to offer an activity that could be enjoyed by a circle of family members and network members of all ages and generations. Rismiller worked with the Heritage Park Board and Charter Representative Troupe 79 HB Hole to expand a design to complement the park’s existing structures and require little maintenance. Her Gaga Ball court would come with composite wood and a color palette that would fit with the playground and benches in the nearby park. In addition, a concrete slab with synthetic turf would complete the task improvements. that offers the opportunity to wear the Gaga Ball Pit almost year-round.
Once the allocation plan was approved by the Heritage Park Board of Directors and the Scouting organization, fundraising for the assignment began. A total of 34 local organizations generously supported the allocation, bringing more activities to the network at Heritage Park. These organizations are: A. L. Smith Trucking, Alvetro Orthodontics, Blue Willow Boutique, Brown Chiropractic, Bruns Animal Clinic, CF Poeppleman, Inc, Classic Carriers, Co-Alliance, Dick Lavy, Direct Tooling Concepts, Inc, Emerson Climate Technologies, Family Health, Gordon Orthodontics, Groff Lawn Cut and Care, Cricket Construction, Herb Pantry, J
