Donald Trump’s Lawyers Are Doing an ‘Appalling Job’ – Mary Trump

Donald Trump’s former niece said the former president’s lawyers were “doing an appalling job” on a blog that chronicled a series of legal setbacks suffered by the 2024 Republican front-runner in the polls through this year.

Mary Trump reacted to the news that her uncle was promoting pieces of the suit he was wearing in his photo when he was arrested in Georgia on extortion charges, which she said is aimed at “raising cash for his legal fees” at “a new low. “for him. “

Trump has been charged in four separate criminal cases that could complicate his bid to secure a second term in the White House in November 2024. He has pled not guilty to all charges relating to claims he orchestrated the payment of hush money to a pornographic actress, mishandled classified documents and broke the law while attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election result both across the United States as well as in the state of Georgia specifically.

In a blog post on the Substack platform, titled “Donald Sells Lawsuit Over His Back,” Mary wrote, “To make matters even worse for Donald, his lawyers are doing an appalling job. This year only:

In York, the Trump Organization was found guilty of 17 criminal charges, including tax evasion and conspiracy. From now on, only damages will have to be decided. They’re going to be HUGE!

“2. Donald has lost BOTH gag order cases, and they are now in effect. Jail time in 3… 2…

“3. A federal ruling ruled that the defamation lawsuit filed through E. Jean Carroll vs. Donald Trump can simply continue, after she had already won the first trial. And he defamed her AGAIN.

“4. A federal judge in Florida fined Donald Trump and his attorney nearly $1 million for filing frivolous lawsuits against Hillary Clinton and others. But her emails!!”

In January 2023, the Trump Organization fined $1. 6 million in New York after two related entities were convicted of 17 crimes, in addition to falsifying business records and tax evasion. Separately, in September, a New York court ruled on the Trump Organization is liable for fraud in a $250 million civil lawsuit filed through New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Trump has thus far been fined a total of $15,000 for violating a gag order imposed by Judge Arthur Engoron in the New York civil case, banning him from criticizing court personnel, which he unsuccessfully tried to get revoked. Separately earlier this month a federal appeals court mostly upheld a similar gag order imposed on Trump in his federal election interference case.

In May, Donald Trump was ordered to pay $5 million in damages after a New York jury concluded he’s sexually abused writer E. Jean Carroll in a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s, then defamed her when she went public with the allegation. Trump is continuing to strongly deny any wrongdoing.

Newsweek has reached out to Donald Trump for comment on the press request form on his official website.

Mary Trump also used her blog post to hit out at her uncle on Tuesday after he announced on his Truth Social website that those who buy 47 Trump digital trading cards, being sold for $99 each, will also receive a piece of the suit he wore to his Georgia indictment and could be invited to attend a gala dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

She wrote: “I know Donald. He has no shame and is equally comfortable putting his name of buildings, steaks, and fake universities. But this is a new low even for him—and it reeks of desperation.”

Referring to the Mar-a-Lago event, Mary Trump later added, “Donald will sell access if he provides a few dollars if he helps pay the other people whose job it is to keep him from dressing in an orange jumpsuit. “
