JA to Expand to BizTown and Finance Park

GIRARD – Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio is in the early stages of developing a site to house a JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, says Michele Merkel, president of JA of Eastern Ohio.

JA BizTown is an interactive city simulation program for elementary and middle school students that teaches private economics, fundamental finance such as writing checks, applying for a job, working in groups, and in government.

J. A. Finance Park is aimed at high school and high school students and addresses the real-world issues facing adults, he says.

Merkel said that over the next two years, JA Eastern Ohio plans to expand its systems to adults between the ages of 18 and 25 and build connections between workers, education and employers.

JA Eastern Ohio partners with school districts and develops K-12 curriculum and K-5 multimedia programs, career exploration for high school students, and more expressive skills and career path opportunities for top school students.
