Yes, while it may not have been discounted at its lowest price (it was also less expensive in The Good Guys), it’s not every day we see discounts on Sonos equipment, and the Arc in particular is a pretty cheap product. Dear proposal in its same value as always, so when they are as smart as this one, we sit down and take note of it.
The Sonos Arc is capable of delivering a really effective Dolby Atmos surround sound effect from its frame alone, it doesn’t require a rear speaker. It also doesn’t come with a subwoofer, but there’s no need to worry too much, as it’s also capable of reaching low frequencies better than most of its competitors. Plus, being a Sonos product, it’s a wonderful tool for music playback and will connect seamlessly to any other Sonos speakers you might have.
While this price is great, you’re lucky like us and you get an extra AU$10 as part of The Good Guys’ Exceeded Value Promise. The retail price here is for the black and white models.
The Sonos Arc is indeed one of the simplest soundbars to set up and use, which has helped it to some extent maintain its position on our list of the most productive soundbars for some time now.
It’s just a soundbar, with no subwoofer or wireless rear speakers. All you have to do is plug it into an outlet, connect it to your Wi-Fi network and TV via HDMI, and you’re good to go. It’s definitely worth noting that Arc doesn’t support HDMI streaming, so you need to connect your devices to your TV and Arc to your TV via the correctly named Audio Return Channel (ARC) output on your screen.
But once that’s done, you’ll be able to enjoy the performance of the Dolby Atmos 5. 0. 2 channel. Also get the benefits of Sonos Intelligent Audio Calibration, which uses the walls of your room to bounce sounds, creating an Atmos surround sound effect. That means placement is Everything, but if for some reason you can’t generate rear sounds, you still get advantages from the extra height associated with Dolby Atmos.
You can plug in some rear speakers if you want, such as a pair of Sonos One for 5. 1-channel surround sound, or the much more effective Era 300 for Dolby Atmos. And, if you’re craving more bass (we’re proposing to look for it without a sub to begin with), you can plug in a Sonos Sub or Sub Mini.
We can’t know how long this deal will last, so if you’re thinking about upgrading your home theater system with smart devices from Sonos, now is the best time.
