A war for supremacy between two teams of bandits over some mines resulted in the deaths of several terrorists.
Credible intelligence was received through PRNigeria that the brutal clash took place between Jammatu Ansarul Musulmin Biladis Sunna, also known as Ansaru, and the Dogo Gide bandit organization in the Kuyello area, Birnin Gwari local government area, Kaduna State.
“A wanted terrorist leader, Mudi and his son Murtala, on Dogo Gide’s side, lost their lives.
“Dogo Gide’s camp has also suffered great losses, including among his closest collaborators and some members of his family circle.
“The rivalry is a war for supremacy of mining sites.
“There are several gold mining sites in Birnin Gwari. Most mining is smuggled from Nigeria into Niger, implying a close connection to criminal elements in the Republic of Niger.
“The recent standoff draws attention to more rivalry attacks in the coming days, given the invasion of JAS and ISWAP elements in the northwest,” PRNigeria said.
The defense intelligence source, who showed the rival clash between the terrorist factions, also indicated that the number of casualties is higher on both sides, judging by the bodies found scattered in the affected areas.
