Tottenham are hoping to sign a new contract for midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. Although the Argentine has had little presence in the Premier League this season, Ange Postecoglou will try to convince the player that he is still in his long-term plans.
Next summer, Lo Celso’s existing contract will enter its final year. The 28-year-old has long been associated with an exit. Barcelona and the former Real Betis club are reportedly interested in a potential transfer.
According to Spanish publication AS, Lionel Messi Lo Celso will arrive at Barca in the January transfer window. Messi also believes that Lo Celso is Argentina’s most productive midfielder.
And Spurs could now secure the approval of the legendary striker while they work on a new contract. According to Tutto Mercato, Spurs are interested in granting Lo Celso a two-year extension and could even increase his salary to convince him to stay.

Lo Celso has made 17 appearances in the Premier League this season, only 4 of which have been starts. His time on the pitch in the most sensitive line is 464 minutes, the equivalent of five full games.
Real Betis, where Lo Celso enjoyed two spells before joining Spurs in 2019, were interested in a move last summer and followed that interest in January. However, the former Paris Saint-Germain player opted to do so in north London.
In January, he said Postecoglou’s trust in him convinced him to stay. He insisted: “I was grateful for his trust in me, so I worked hard and showed every day that I longed to be here and play. I felt comfortable in his education and in his way of training. I love his concept of football, which gave me confidence that I could find a place in his team.

“The coaching staff helped me and my teammates. It’s a personal challenge for my career, but the coach’s plan and philosophy help me in my game because he asks and needs me to express things in my role.
“Things are going very well. He’s made me feel very safe since he arrived. “
Most likely, the Spurs will be busy in the summer transfer window. Most likely, a new striker will help Postecoglou take the North Londoners to the Premier League’s elite.
