The former mansion of JLS star Oritsé Williams has been converted into a luxury home after suffering a fire.
The singer lost around £2. 5 million after promoting his Croydon mansion for just £500,000 four years ago.
Still, the new owners are in the process of rebuilding and have already started building the house.
The entire exterior of the space is being rebuilt, adding the installation of new fashionable windows, while the roof, broken by fire, has been restored with brown tiles.
Solar panels have also been installed on the assets that have recently been under construction.
The artist bought the space for £3 million more than a decade ago, which was owned by Ronnie Corbett.
However, a suspected arson destroyed the property.
In the past, the mansion looked deserted after the roof of the room was destroyed by fire and grass can be seen growing through the carpet of the hallway stairwell.
Ariel’s photo taken in 2020 showed a collapsed roof, broken windows, and a smoke-filled interior.
The paintings of the structure clearly show that the new owners will put their stamp on the house.
They are also remodeling the pool and parts of the back lawn.
Within the property, plan requests recommend that it will feature a game room, sanctuary and movie theater.
The London Borough of Croydon rejected the owner’s request for a rear extension and pool space, calling it an “inappropriate development”.
The new owners submitted an application for progression requesting permission for a new single-storey extension.
Colin Smith, 36, an urban explorer, had in the past visited the £3 million assets after they were destroyed in the fire.
His photographs showed the full extent of the damage through the chimney above a wrought marble countertop, one of the few things recognizable in a sea of rubble.
A warehouse for valuables also survived the fire, but the upper floor was completely destroyed.
More than 70 firefighters battled the blaze that devastated Oritse Williams’ home in 2019.
Fortunately, no one was injured, but police opened an investigation after revealing that they are treating the chimney as suspicious.
However, police were unable to link anyone to a possible arson attack and the investigation was closed.
Ronnie Corbett’s widow, Anne Hart, said she had thought about buying the property where she had lived for 33 years, but was devastated when she learned they had been damaged.
“I’m heartbroken and Ronnie would be too,” she said.
Councillor Robert Ward, who represents Selsdon and Addington Village on Croydon City Council, admitted he was very pleased to see the assets restored after being “abandoned for some time”.
Oritse Williams, 37, is a singer-songwriter and producer from London.
He discovered good luck with bandmates Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and J. B. Gill as his band, JLS, one of the leading bands of 2008.
They rose to fame after completing X Factor
Oritse, the founding member, teamed up with Marvin, who had a background in the music world.
The band had four top three albums in the UK and five number one singles in the UK.
After releasing a compilation of their biggest hits at the end of 2013, followed by a farewell tour of stadiums across the UK, the band broke up and played their last gig at 02 in London in December 2013.
The band reunited last year for the biggest excursion of their career.
JLS has sold over 10 million records internationally and at one point was the biggest boyband in the UK.
When was Oritse Williams acquitted of rape?
On September 12, 2018, Oritse was accused of raping a fan.
He and A were accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old waitress in 2016 after a concert in Wolverhampton. He denied it.
On 28 May 2019, the singer was unanimously acquitted of rape via Wolverhampton Crown Court after approximately two hours and 17 minutes of deliberation.
Its tour director, Jamien Nagadhana, was also acquitted of two counts of sexual assault.
The alleged incident allegedly took place after a concert at the Magnifique Club to promote his solo album Waterline at the Ramada Park Hall Hotel.
Williams, from Croydon, south London, pleaded guilty to rape at a court hearing in November last year.
Nagadhana, 32, from Hounslow, west London, has denied charges of penetrative assault.
