Ohio State Buckeyes WR Kyion Grayes Logs Into NCAA Transfer Portal

The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost skill in the NCAA’s moving portal

The Ohio State Buckeyes are shaping up to be one of the most talented in the country in 2024.

Arguably one of the innermost spaces for the Bucks is wide receivers, where they’ve amassed four- and five-star skills over the years under Ryan Day.

Now, though, one of those talents is about to disappear: Second-year receiver Kyion Grayes entered the NCAA’s moving portal on Tuesday.

Grayes first arrived in Columbus as a member of the Class of 2022, where he ranked four-star rookies by consensus.

According to the On3 industry rankings, he ranked 104th nationally, 19th in wide receiver and No. 2 in Arizona defensive end Anthony Lucas. 247 Sports ranked Grayes 63rd overall and 8th in receivers nationally, as well as No. 2 in Arizona.

In his two seasons at Ohio State, Grayes played just two games, either in 2022. In any of those appearances, he had one catch for two yards. He did not appear in 2023 largely due to a lower-body injury that kept him out of action for most of the season.

The Grays had two catches for 15 yards in the Buckeyes’ spring earlier this month.

He’s now the sixth Buckeye to enter the portal since the end of the spring game, along with defensive backs Cedrick Hawkins and Ja’Had Carter, running back Dallan Hayden, offensive guard Enokk Vimahi and linebacker Nigel Glover.
