The New York Knicks probably wouldn’t have their star point guard to be in the Olympics.
The EE. UU. se team is preparing to compete in the Paris Olympics this summer, but will do so without New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson, who was a key figure on the team last summer at the FIBA Basketball Cup in Asia.
Brunson and the U. S. team finished fourth in the competition, prompting some of America’s high-profile stars to dedicate themselves to the Olympics to return the country to the top of the basketball world.
The United States has unveiled its roster consisting of LeBron James and Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kevin Durant and Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday. (Boston Celtics), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat) and Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers).
But with the playoffs on the horizon, Brunson doesn’t seem fazed by the news of his exclusion from the final roster.
“I just focused on the playoffs, I didn’t even look at the roster,” Brunson told reporters.
While Knicks enthusiasts would arguably be disappointed that Brunson couldn’t make the American team after his most productive pro season yet, they can be happy with the fact that he ends up stuck in the playoffs.
Brunson had a career year forming his first All-Star team and finishing fourth with 28. 7 points per game, and now he’ll be fully on the Knicks as they look to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in 25 years.
