Georgia Tech Baseball will enter a very important phase of the season that will likely determine whether or not they will be included in the 64-field at the end of the season.
The Yellow Jackets had played very well before their weekend series against No. Clemsons, but then lost the series to the Tigers, ending their four-band winning streak in the ACC series. With the playoffs against Duke and Florida State coming to an end. As this season ends, there’s still plenty of time to catch up and find your way back to the projected group.
According to the latest projections from On3 Sports Jonathan Wagner, Georgia Tech ranks in the top four along with Coastal Carolina, Florida and Maryland. The final four projects are UCF, LSU, Charleston, and Illinois. The next four projects are James Madison, Texas Tech, Cal and Kansas.
Starting at home against Auburn, Georgia Tech will have a chance to catch up. If they can win the remaining midweek games against the Tigers and against Mercer next week along with strong performances against Duke and Florida State, Georgia Tech has a good chance of getting in. They arguably play at the most productive convention in the country. and that they deserve to count for something.
The season is coming to an end and there are only a few weeks left before the ACC tournament. The war for second place in ACC Coastal is still up for grabs and NC State and Florida State are still within Clemson’s control.
Next week’s flagship in the ACC will be Georgia Tech vs. Duke, Clemson vs. Wake Forest, Louisville vs. North Carolina, and NC State vs. Virginia.
