President Biden, whose presidential crusade uses the app, signed a law in April that would require the sale of TikTok through ByteDance.

The main political action committee supporting former President Donald J. Trump joined TikTok on Wednesday, jumping on the social media platform as it is in the midst of a political war over its ownership through a Chinese company, ByteDance.
The super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc. , is independent of S. S. Trump, however, the transfer to TikTok (the pseudonym @MAGA) signals a change in strategy just about three months after President Biden’s re-election crusade joined. the social media platform.
“There are millions of voters on TikTok, and President Donald J. ‘@MAGA pro-freedom, pro-American calendar will provide. Every day. Trump with the facts and stories that matter,” Taylor Budowich, executive director of the PAC. he said in a statement. We’re not looking to identify a policy, we’re looking to win elections. “
The TikTok account, which had about 300 followers as of Wednesday evening, has so far posted five videos, four attacking M. Biden and a woman attacking Robert F. Kennedy Jr. , the independent presidential candidate, calling him a “radical leftist. “”
Biden signed a law in April that would force ByteDance to sell TikTok, which sued the federal government on Tuesday in an effort to block the law. Under the terms of the law, ByteDance has about nine months to sell the app, or it will be banned. The President would possibly extend this era for up to a year.
Trump had also attempted to ban the app during his time in office, ordering ByteDance in August 2020 to get rid of the app. A federal ruling blocked the ban attempt the following month, and Trump left office a few months later.
But when House Republicans ordered the sale of the app through legislation, Trump came out against the bill, saying ByteDance’s ownership still poses a national security risk, but that a potential ban would anger young Americans.
“Frankly, there are a lot of other people on TikTok who love it,” M said. Trump in an interview on CNBC. ” There are a lot of little kids on TikTok who would go crazy without it. “
Trump himself isn’t on TikTok, preferring to use his own social media site, Truth Social, and neither is his campaign. While TikTok is still up and running in the U. S. , for now, and Biden is the app, Budowich said what Biden said.
“We will cede any platform to Joe Biden and the Democrats,” he said.
