A photo of Christina Bobb, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, hit social media on Tuesday, drawing ridicule after she pleaded guilty in Arizona to fees similar to her alleged involvement in the state’s fake electorate case.
Bobb, who heads the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) election integrity unit, charged last month through Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes with alleged attempts to overturn the effects of the 2020 presidential election in Trump’s favor.
In April, Mayes announced that 18 people, including Bobb, had been charged with felonies, in addition to fraud, forgery and conspiracy, as part of a scheme to falsely claim that Trump defeated Joe Biden in the state in 2020. Biden defeated Trump in 2020. Arizona with fewer than 11,000 votes. Trump has not been charged as a component of this scheme, but is listed as an “unindicted co-conspirator 1” in the indictment.
Other Trump allies indicted by the Arizona grand jury include former White House leader Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City before becoming Trump’s lawyer.
On Tuesday, 11 people, in addition to Bobb, who was practically in court, were arraigned and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Amid Tuesday’s arraignment, Bobb’s photo began circulating on social media as some took to X, formerly Twitter, to mock Trump’s former lawyer.
Newsweek reached out to Bobb via direct message on Instagram for comment.
Liberal news site MeidasTouch criticized Bobb for attempting to strike the same “pose” Trump did when he stayed in August 2023, while booked in Georgia on extortion charges.
“He tried to strike a Trump. No pose it went well,” Medias Touch wrote on X.
X user Art Candee also took aim at Bobb’s appearance, writing, “Christina Bobb’s photo in Arizona for the electorate plan just surfaced. She looks possessed. “
User A_tothe_Z_Amber highlighted Bobb’s role within the RNC’s Election Integrity Unit, writing, “Why Christina Bobb’s long face? She pleaded not guilty in the case of the fake AZ electors. She seems smart to be the RNC’s new defender of “election integrity. “”
