Starting this month, Rooftop Films is screening individual films in exclusive locations throughout Brooklyn: in parks, local cultural centers, and even at Green-Wood Cemetery. The season kicked off on May 21 with the screening of Wong Kar Wai’s gripping 1996 romance “Happy Together” in Fort Greene Park and continues through the end of August with Pride-themed shorts, independent films, and even short films in June. With its wide variety of films, there’s something for each and every movie buff!

Paramount has partnered with Brooklyn Magazine, the Prospect Park Alliance and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso have partnered for a series of free movie nights in Brooklyn this summer. From June through September, films will be screened in McCarren Park, Prospect Park, Fort Parque Greene and Coney Island.
The series kicks off with “Zoolander” at McCarren Park on June 7, and the full show “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark” at Prospect Park on June 26, the classic ’90s “Love and Basketball” at Coney Island in August. 26. 1 and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” at Fort Greene Park on September 5.

“Film the Stars”
The city’s parks branch is putting all those open areas to smart use this summer with lots of free videos for all ages!In Brooklyn, the laughter began with a children’s screening of “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” at Kaiser Park on May 21. Other highlights include “Barbie” at WNYC Operator Park on May 31 and a filmed edition of Shakespeare in the Park. “Much Ado About Nothing” at McCarren Park on July 17.

Brooklyn Bridge Park offers one of the most productive perspectives in the entire city, making it the most productive place for movie nights!Enjoy a dazzling view of Manhattan and a weekly movie every Thursday night in July and August. The full list is yet to be announced (titles and details will be released at the end of May), but the park will offer family movies for five nights starting July 18.

Vale Film Series
The Vale Cinema Series is free, but offers an enchanting cinematic experience on the rooftop of the iconic William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg. Viewers can enjoy wonderful summer videos, from blockbusters to indie favorites, while taking in the sights, sipping cocktails, and sampling Westlight’s new taco menu.
The Vale Cinema series has already begun and its next film, “Dirty Dancing,” is scheduled for 7 p. m. on June 3, with “Bottoms” scheduled for June 17 and “The Turf Club” for later in the season.
