Noelia Voigt has definitively gotten rid of her crown.
The 24-year-old has announced that she is stepping down from her position as Miss USA 2023 for intellectual health reasons.
“I realize this may come as a big surprise to many,” Noelia wrote in a May 6 Instagram post. “Never compromise your physical and intellectual well-being. Our physical condition is our wealth. A million thanks to everyone for their constant and unwavering support. It’s time to write the next chapter. “
The former Miss Utah, who was crowned Miss USA in September, reflected on the “very difficult” resolution to retire from the title.
“In life, I really appreciate the importance of making choices that are good for you and your intellectual health,” she explained. “As individuals, we grow up experiencing other things in life that lead us to be more informed about ourselves. “
Noelia has become the first Venezuelan-American to hold the name, and it’s an honor that hasn’t been lost. “Perhaps I would never have imagined the adventure that would take away the dream of my formative years,” he said of his seven-year adventure in competitions. “Consistency, hard work and determination have gotten me to where I am today. “
“Eternal gratitude fills my center when I think about the platform I was given to make a difference, the feeling of fulfilling my life’s dream and connecting with other people around the world, just as I said I would in the Miss Stage USA pageant. “Deep down, I know this is just the beginning of a new bankruptcy for me and I hope to continue to motivate others to stand firm, prioritize their intellectual health, stand up for their voice and the voice of others, and never be disappointed. I’m afraid of what the long term holds, even if it’s uncertain. “

After the news, Noelia won from the Miss USA organization, adding the director of the pageant Shanna Moakler, who congratulated the model for her decision.
“I’m so proud of you as a young woman,” Shanna wrote in the comments. “I feel very revered to have been able to be a part of your journey. I know this resolution wasn’t easy for you, I still know you know that I’ll help you, that I’ll be there for you. You are my circle of family and you are someone I cherish enormously. “
Following Noelia’s announcement, the Miss USA organization explained how it plans to have a successor.
“We respect and support former Miss USA Noelia Voigt’s decision to step down from her position,” he said. “The well-being of our protective champions is the most sensible priority and we understand that they must put themselves first in this situation. “
