The 45th president is obviously a fan of beer, sausage and Brewers baseball.
In a closed-door caucus with Republican congressional leaders, former President Donald Trump called Milwaukee, home to the upcoming Republican National Convention, a “horrible city,” according to Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News.
Sherman is a well-respected Capitol Hill journalist whose resources among leaders of both parties are as strong as those of virtually anyone else. It is remarkable, then, that Trump blatantly insulted the NCR site and the largest city in the crucial state of Wisconsin, just weeks before the conference.
Sherman tweeted the news of Trump’s dissent in Milwaukee Thursday morning, writing, “Milwaukee, where we held our convention, is a terrible city. “

It’s not hard to believe how this story will play out, with baseless court cases over “fake news” and Sherman’s unwavering colleagues vouching for his strong character and reliable reputation for accurate reporting.
And if the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel had a sense of humor, its morning headline would be “Trump in Milwaukee: DEAD FALL!”
