A “No to Dictators, No to Trump” sign appears on the Miami Freeway

MIAMI – An electronic sign reading “No dictators, no Trump” appeared on the Palmetto Expressway and 67th Avenue Northwest in Miami-Dade County.

The poster features a symbol of former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro on the left and a profile picture of former U. S. President Donald Trump on the right.

The ad aimed at the Hispanic vote generated complaints and praise.

The Miami Herald, a press partner, tells Radio Mambí commentators that the poster is “propaganda. “

Claude Taylor, founder of Mad Dog PAC, which funded the poster, told the newspaper that the poster’s goal is to capture people’s attention.

“We make anti-Trump billboards, and simple ones. “

Taylor told CBS News Miami, “Unlike Cuba, other people are allowed to have other political perspectives and demonstrate them on a poster. Now, I couldn’t get away with this kind of thing if I were in Cuba. Could I?”

“I don’t need to see Donald Trump as a dictator. In this country, just as Fidel Castro was in Cuba. ”

Jamie Florez, director of Hispanic communications for the Republican National Committee, said it was an insult to the Cuban community, not just Miami.

“They see it as a wonderful lack of respect for a network that has suffered for more than 60 years from their regime that destroyed one of the most beautiful islands. . . the largest island in the Caribbean. ”
