RACINE – A really warm welcome to former President Donald Trump at Racine.
For the first time since his felony conviction on May 30, the former commander-in-chief will travel to Wisconsin on Tuesday to host a campaign at the Racine Civic Center.
The occasion coincides with the first true heat wave of the year in southeastern Wisconsin, as temperatures are expected to rise to the 90s for the third day in a row.
Civic Center sales manager Kevin McDougal says they’ll be in a position to withstand today’s heat, with water popsicles available for purchase on-site that will be loaded into the park on Monday.
Ahead of the rally, Biden members in Wisconsin staged a counter-event denouncing the 2016-2020 Trump administration, claiming it had failed to fulfill the planned task for Foxconn, which Trump had in the past called the “eighth wonder of the world. “”The Foxconn allocation is an example of the failure of Trump’s economic policy,” Racine’s Democratic Party chairwoman Kelly Gallaher said Tuesday. “It’s had a profound effect on our community. People have lost their homes and promised jobs. nowhere. ” Initially, in 2017, Foxconn had planned a $3 billion allocation with 13,000 jobs on offer. As part of an April 2021 deal, Foxconn reduced its planned investment in the Racine domain to $672 million and 1,454 jobs.
The scale comes days after Trump reportedly called Milwaukee a “horrible city” during a meeting with Republicans at a closed-door assembly at the Capitol last Thursday. Trump clarified to Fox News that the comments were similar to election integrity and criminality, and later denied them. saying the word on Truth Social.

Tim Sheehy, a senior adviser at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Trade Association, told WTMJ that whether Trump made those comments or not is part of the political process of every election cycle. Milwaukee, in particular, is on the national stage. Highlight this election season as the host city for the upcoming 2024 Republican National Convention.
“As the conference gets closer, things will be said, some very positive about Milwaukee, some not so positive. We have to take it with a grain of salt,” Sheehy said. It’s part of the political mix that’s going on. “. . . even if the host committee in Milwaukee is not political, the conference is. So we’re going to hear a lot of conversations about Milwaukee, and we have to get used to it a little bit. And let’s protect ourselves!
