Sytner has changed the logo of the Carshop branch in Swindon as it continues to restructure its logo of a used car supermarket.
Car Dealer reported last month that the Top One Hundred organization plans to scrap CarShop’s call following a strategic review of the company.
As part of the restructuring, at least one site, which later became known as Carshop Doncaster, was closed, while others were expected to change their names.
It is a procedure that is already underway, since Swindon has seen all its signage dismantled.
The Swindon Advertiser reports that the facility has been renamed “Sytner Select Approved Used Cars” and that a new identity is being rolled out.
The newspaper says scaffolding has been erected at the site this week as the rebranding continues to take shape.
The paints include replacing all construction signage and installing blue flags in the car park. A giant virtual screen on the site was also changed to show the Sytner brand, instead of CarShop’s.
Confirming Car Dealer’s broader rebranding in May, a Sytner spokesperson said: “We can verify that after conducting a strategic review and adding a successful pilot at a former CarShop location, the organization is consulting with our CarShop regarding the potential rebranding of most of our CarShop locations to Sytner Select Approved Used Cars supermarkets.
“In addition, we can see that we are also in complex negotiations with an interested party in selling a minority of CarShop seats as an operating company, as well as potentially closing a site.
“Our priority, as always, will be to protect as many jobs as possible while ensuring the long-term success of the company. “
Sytner ultimately operates CarShop outlets in Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, Northampton, Norwich, Nottingham, Sheffield, Swindon, Warrington and Wolverhampton.
The company’s retail store in Wakefield also recently changed its name to Sytner Select.
Sytner bought CarShop for over £70 million in 2017 and in 2021 launched the CarShop logo worldwide.
The brokers’ organization is owned by Penske Automotive, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, which continues to use the CarShop logo in the United States.
Last year, Penske’s profits topped £23 billion and they made profits of £863. 5 million. The U. K. contributed 31. 3% to Penske’s 2023 earnings, while CarShop outlets in the U. K. and U. S. accounted for 31. 3% of Penske’s 2023 earnings. The U. S. remained static, adding 7% to the total.
