FIFA World Cup 26: These two parks will serve as venues in Vancouver

The City of Vancouver and the park’s board of directors have announced that Killarney Park and Memorial South Park will take advantage of the box innovations to serve as two official educational venues for the 26 FIFA World Cup.

A requirement for the 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, the park venues will host global groups as they work out ahead of the seven games scheduled in Colombia.

“The fields will feature lights, team amenities such as locker rooms and a press conference room,” said a statement from the city and park board released Tuesday.

The specific teams that will train and compete in Vancouver will be in the final FIFA draw at the end of 2025.

Work will begin in January 2025 on the grass and gravel fields at Killarney Park North and the oval at Memorial Park South. It is expected to be completed in June 2026 and the courses will be used again through legal users this fall.

The public can see renderings of what progression permit symptom education will look like that will be installed next month.

The public will not have access to the construction of the educational sites, and the city board and park plan to work with netpainting users to locate opportunities that fit their needs.

The city also receives expressions of interest from vendors interested in providing grass for the practice fields. These will be part of other business opportunities posted on vancouverfwc26. ca. More data on park amenities will be shared as detailed designs progress.
