Construction on what is billed as the world’s largest racquet sports facility will begin in North Carolina.
The Swing Racquet + Paddle team has inaugurated its large 44-hectare sports and entertainment venue with more than 70 sports courts. The $125 million allocation is expected to open in 2026.
From the recent surge in pickleball popularity to the strong local school sports scene, Team Swing is excited to launch a “sports entertainment” venue in the Triangle, said Rob Autry, founder and CEO of Swing Racquet Paddle.
“I mean, it’s one of the five most active racquet and padel sports communities in the country,” Autry told News.
Located in Raleigh’s Brier Creek network, the complex will feature 28 tennis courts, 25 pickleball courts, 15 paddle tennis courts, 4 tennis and sand volleyball courts, and a ping-pong room, with a fitness partner on the spot.
A tennis player since childhood, Aucheck says the venue is a hobby that’s been years in the making. He describes himself as the “Baskin-Robbins of racket sports”, who will test his ability in all padel sports.
The city agreed to lease the assets to Swing in 2018 and approved a $10 million grant for the allocation earlier this year, The News previously reported.
“We are thrilled to see that the supermarket will have an effect on what Swing is creating in terms of jobs, tourism and special occasions that will attract amateurs and professionals to our region for competitions,” Mayor Mary-Ann said in a press release. Swing will be an extension of our existing parks and recreational systems with trails connected to our existing greenways. This partnership further reinforces Raleigh’s commitment to a shared bond focused on sustainability, social good, and inclusion.
There will also be a special “dining experience” with a menu prepared by celebrity chef Fabio Viviani and a racquet sports retail store in partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods Co.
“Our purpose is for this to be a piece of network,” Autry said. “This is built for the network, through the network, with the network and what greater opportunity to unite everyone. Racket and paddle sports, in addition to this giant net bar. “-a restaurant and a ping-pong room in the middle so that everyone can share bread together,” Autry explained.
“The most important vision is. . . How can we build those older sports and give them a new twist, put a new spin on the model, make them more accessible?
Once opened, Autry says Swing will offer several admissions features for guests, adding short- and long-term passes and memberships. Its purpose is that this emblematic facility – which he estimates will have between 3,000 and 5,000 stadiums – will also host several tournaments and events.
The 44-acre Swing campus will be in the Brier Creek network in Raleigh at 6121 Mt. Herman Road. For more details, see swingnc. com.
