On Thursday afternoon, the France women’s national team faces Nigeria in a duel between an undefeated basketball team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The match between Les Bleues and Nigeria will be broadcast by France Télévisions and Eurosport on Thursday 1 August at 17:15.
Despite having won their first match without a doubt, Les Bleues do not need to claim victory too quickly. This mentality shows that they are ambitious and remain focused on the challenges ahead, starting with this Group B clash against Nigeria. Jean-Aimé Toupane’s players inspired against Canada (24-2 in the second quarter!), and did not leave any chance to their opponent, despite being 4th in the last World Cup.

Given their performance against Australia (75-62 victory), the Africans did not go to the Paris Olympics to recover their numbers. Against the host country, there is no doubt that they will have to show that they are capable of going far in the competition. According to FIBA, Nigeria was the country with the least chance of winning a medal (12/12). Their victory against the Oceania players (4th) demonstrated, to everyone’s surprise, quite the opposite. With a strong and competitive defense, Nigerians can go far. Ezinne Kalu, 19 numbers and captain Okonkwo (13 numbers) showed the way for their team. The ‘bleus’ will have to be careful with this.
