Konala Café opens in Coeur d’Alene this week

At the new Konala Café, opening this week in the former Carl’s Jr. building at 106 E. Appleway, you can enjoy fast, healthy food with protein bowls and salads.

Owners Trace and Jammie Miller have an indoor ordering counter, 20 indoor seats and a drive-thru. A workplace and a small gym are located in the former playground. DOMA Coffee opens its doors on the river

The roasting company’s DOMA Café opens Thursday at 3091 N. Atlas Road (just above the Spokane River).

It offers coffee, tea and food from local bakeries and producers. Later, juices, beer and wine will be presented.

Construction of U-Haul buildings begins

Construction has begun on a giant two-building domain for U-Haul of Inland Northwest, at 365 N. Herborn St. (off Seltice Way) in Post Falls.

The company offers trucks, trailers and moving devices to more than 20,000 dealers nationwide. The do-it-yourself moving company began in 1945 with its headquarters in Phoenix.

Many new developments are planned in the region.

Pre-progression data at Post Falls was requested through Nom Nom, Discount Tire, Freddy’s Steakburgers, and a Tru a Hilton hotel for the Point at Post Falls progression area.

Other imaginable new businesses include a Houston Hot Chicken on Highway 41 and in Mullan. The locations at Highway 41 and Prairie would likely feature a Metro Express car wash, Human Bean Coffee, a McDonald’s and an indoor trampoline park.

Possible new locations coming to Coeur d’Alene include Chipotle, Sleep Number and Jersey Mike’s near the At Home store on Appleway.

• Two new buildings will open for local markets next year at the intersection of Best Avenue and 15th Street in Coeur d’Alene and Highway 41 and Hope Road in Post Falls. The markets will offer new produce, new flowers, coffee and produce from local vendors, with freshly made sandwiches, pastry bars and premium self-serve coffees. • Runge’s Furniture, at 303 E. Spokane St. , is being renovated and Trader Joe’s will be installed in approximately part of the space.

• A new, larger Oval Office structure is built on Spokane Street in Post Falls. It is expected to be completed this summer with owner Raci Erdem, general contractor Rob Harsh and architect Mark Latham.

• A proposed Marriott hotel will span approximately half an acre at 602 and 612 E. Sherman Ave. The six-story hotel would have 131 rooms, 130 main parking spaces and 3 underground parking spaces, an administrative area, a bar. Full kitchen, living room, dining room, meeting space, laundry room, gym and rooftop bar.

• A new facility for Peak Health and Wellness Center is being structured at 4425 N. Fennecus Road in Post Falls. Se will move in August from 927 E. Polston (Suite 101). The new location will feature 8 indoor and 8 pickleball courts, strength equipment, aerobic and organizational exercises, a kids’ club, juice bar, pro store, and full locker room.
