Ogema Days: The northwest Becker County community of Ogema will host its annual Ogema Days celebration from Aug. 29-31. Events will include live music by Mike Morse at the Ogema Liquor Store on Thursday, Aug. 29; a customer appreciation picnic at Community Development Bank on Friday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., followed by softball under the lights at the Ogema ballpark; and on Saturday, Aug. 31, there will be a 5K run at 9 a.m. followed by a Mardi Gras-themed parade at noon and an afternoon of food, kids’ games, scavenger hunt and inflatables, face painting and a visit from the Trowbridge Creek Petting Zoo at the Ogema City Park. For the adults, there will be bean bag and volleyball tournaments, bingo, a car show, mechanical pheasant riding, and live music from Rick Fiedler, all at the City Park, capped off by a street dance featuring music by Rhyme or Reason on Ogema’s Main Street starting at 9 p.m.
Detroit Lakes Rotary Midday Community Blood Test: The Detroit Lakes Midday Rotary Club will host its annual network blood test on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 4-6, from 7 a. m. to 7 a. m. m. a. a. to 9:30 a. m. , daily at Essentia Health St. Mary’s. EMS Building, 225 Park St. , Detroit Lakes. Doors open at 6:45 a. m. daily. The fee is $40 per child, payable by cash or check (payable to Noon Rotary Club). Holmes Art Cellar Open Studio: Register for Holmes Artist Collective members at Art Cellar on both Thursdays from 4:30 p. m. to 7:30 p. m.
