Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he accepted an offer from Fox News to hold a debate with presumptive Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, Harris’ crusader says she will stick to the original plan of a debate on ABC News.
In his message, former President Trump said that the so-called Fox News debate would take place on September 4.
“I have agreed with FoxNews to discuss Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4. The debate was scheduled in the past against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but it was canceled because Biden will no longer participate, and I am in litigation against ABC NetworkArray. and George Slopadopoulos, thus creating a clash of interests,” he said.
In his message, Trump said the debate would be held in Pennsylvania, “in a setting to be determined. “
“The moderators of the debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the rules will be the same as my debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly through his party, BUT WITH A FULL AUDIENCE!” Trump said.
Harris’ crusader said Saturday that “Donald Trump was scared” waiting for Fox News to “pull him out” of the debate it had already agreed to with ABC News.
“He wants to prevent gambling and show up at the debate he is already committed to on September 10,” Michael Tyler, communications director for the Harris campaign, told CBS News in a statement. “The vice president will be there in one way or another to take advantage of the opportunity to face a national audience in prime time. “
Tyler said the crusade is open to new discussions, but after one that both crusades have already agreed upon takes place.
“Mr. Anytime, Anywhere, Anywhere shouldn’t have any challenges with that, unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th,” Tyler added.
In a separate message on X, formerly Twitter, Harris said, “It’s appealing to see how ‘anytime, anywhere’ becomes ‘an express moment, a safe express space. ‘”I will be there on September 10, as he accepted, I hope to see you there.

Trump and President Biden, while still in the race for the White House, agreed in May to participate in two presidential debates. The first took place in June and will air on CNN, and the second is scheduled for September 10 and will air on ABC. News.
Last month, Harris accused Trump of reneging on his previous agreement in the Sept. 10 presidential debate, telling reporters, “I’m ready. “
Biden’s poor performance in the first debate prompted calls for him to end his reelection bid and announce he would resign from his campaign for a second term. After Biden dropped out of the race, Harris announced her candidacy and has since won the bid for a majority of delegates to secure the Democratic nomination. The Democratic National Convention will be held Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
On Friday, a majority of Democratic delegates voted for Harris as the party’s presidential candidate in a virtual roll-call vote, her crusade and the Democratic Party said, cementing her standing as the most sensible on the ticket heading into November.
CBS News has issued invitations for the Harris and Trump campaigns, inviting applicants to participate in the presidential and vice presidential debates in early September.
