SEEKONK, Mass. (WJAR) — Showcase Cinemas in Seekonk will be closing the curtain on its movie-showing tenure Sunday.
The cinema announced in the past that January 5th would be its last day of operation.
The building, located on 100 Commerce Way, was purchased by DeMoulas Super Markets, the parent company of Market Basket, back in July.
“Showcase Cinemas remains deeply committed to our U. S. theatrical exhibition business. “”We look forward to continuing to deliver a premium cinematic experience to all of our unwavering customers,” Showcase said in an email to NBC 10 NewsArray.
Showcase said moviegoers in Seekonk have the option of visiting the Showcase theaters at Providence Place or North Attleborough.
Some of the movies that showed at Showcase Cinemas in Seekonk on its last day include “A Complete Unknown,”, “Babygirl”, “The Fire Inside”, “Nosferatu”, “Mufasa: The Lion King”, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”, “Moana 2”, “Gladiator II”, and “Wicked”.
