San Antonio – Inside a basket and wrapped in a towel, a baby discovered on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Nolan & Cherry Street on the east side.
The baby was breathing weakly and still had its umbilical cord attached.
We spoke with Pamela Allen of Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach. She says the baby could have been born to a homeless mother.
The baby discovered around 3:00 a. m. and taken to the hospital. Lately he has been in critical condition.
“We’re praying for a great outcome and we’re praying that this baby will pull through,” Allen said.
The area where the baby is reported to be found is near a fire station with a 24-hour safe surrender site.
Allen says Eagles Flight is helping homeless families and trying to move them into homes. She says they are running to spread the word about the law of baby Moses. The law allows a newborn to be dropped off at a designated hospital, fire station, or emergency room.
Police are investigating this incident but has not announced any arrest.
