Federal Immigration Officials are making plans to open the first new immigrant detention center for President Donald Trump in Newark, New Jersey, officials said.
The 1,000 bed site will be in an old Immigration and Customs Control Detention Center in the United States, in a place known as Delaney Hall. The site will be used to develop ICE retention capacity in Northeast, the firm said.
“The location close to a foreign airport rationalizes logistics and is helping to facilitate the well -timed remedy of Americans under our care, while we continue with the mandate of President Trump to arrest, maintain and eliminate illegal foreigners from our communities,” said ICE director of Caleb Vacker in a statement.
